OUR VISIT TO THE MARAE

RECOUNT WRITING OF MY TRIP TO THE RUAPOTAKA MARAE

St Pius X Catholic school had the opportunity to go and explore at the Ruapotaka Marae. Once we arrived the noise settled down and we waited patiently for the welcoming.

Each child or adult had their shoes off  before they  are too entered the Marae. I liked how we sang, create the flax flower and learn the Pepeha which was interesting to know the difference between a Mihimihi and a Pepeha. A Pepeha is when you introduced or greet yourself but a Mihimihi is quite the same as sspeech.

We also had our morning break and lunch at the Marae, I felt  proud now that we, St Pius X Catholic school is now a family of the Ruapotaka Marae. It surely was a marvellous trip. I hope to visit the Ruapotaka Marae some day.
