Day 5 - Bonus Activity

Bonus Activity: You and your tour group have enjoyed your day in the mountains but you’re ready for a change of scenery. You ask Curious Kiwi to take you to Central Otago, a region of the south island with lots of rolling hills and flat, brown grasslands. While in Central Otago, you decide to join the Otago Central Rail Trail – a 150 km long cycle trail. Curious Kiwi and I (Rachel) cycled the Rail Trail in April and we loved it!
On your blog, tell us whether you would like to cycle the Otago Rail Trail one day. Does it sound like fun? Why or why not?

Yes it would be a great adventurous trip to cycle the Otago rail trail because you come across beautiful surroundings e.g like trees,  different types of birds flowing about and also the fascinating Nature.

  2. Hi Von,

I agree, Visiting the Otago rail trail would be a wonderful experience because there are so many magnificent views to see. Do you think you would ever go there one day? I am planning to go there one day just before summer approaches with my family. It would be so much fun.

Enjoy the rest of you journey exploring New Zealand Von!

    Goodluck!

  3. Hi Von, So true!! The South Island has a very different look and a very different environment than the one you experience in Auckland. I think you'd find it both beautiful and interesting! And it would be particularly fun if you saw it in the winter when there's snow on the ground! I hope you'll have a chance to travel around the South Island one day, if you haven't already done so. Getting to know our own country first is always a good idea, I think.

I'm writing to you from Canada where I live with my husband, Ron, and my dog, Spirit. We walk, bike and paddle our canoe as often as we can in the spring, summer and fall. Right now we're in the middle of our summer time so it's particularly fun to have bike adventures these days. But you're int he midst of winter, so biking might just be a dream for you at the moment...
    Well done on your blog!

    Leslie

  4. Hi Von. I would also like to cycle there. Since it is 150 kms long I wonder How long it would take to make it to the end. Keep on working hard.
